Inspired by his son and the challenges families often face in everyday settings, including school, Ken created Parent Teacher Path, a website to house helpful information for parents needing resources and tools for support and advocacy with schools.

We spoke with Ken about his family’s journey with FPIES, resources they found to be helpful along the way and how their experiences helped in developing Parent Teacher Path in this 3-part blog post series.

Blog #2: The Resources That Supported Our Journey with FPIES.

Strong medical guidance was essential in helping our family navigate FPIES.

Our pediatrician played a vital role by listening to our concerns, understanding our child, and helping guide decisions during an uncertain and emotional time. That consistent support provided reassurance when we needed it most.

We were also supported by the medical team at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Their knowledge, patience, and clear explanations helped us better understand FPIES and what it meant for our son, bringing comfort during overwhelming moments.

Alongside medical care, organizations like the FPIES Foundation provide families with education, awareness, and connection. Access to reliable information and shared experiences can make a difficult journey feel more manageable.

If you are early in your FPIES journey, know that combining trusted medical care with supportive resources can help you feel informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.
